Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) are multi-skilled healthcare professionals who provide vital support to those in need. Home Care Training & Benefits Hub can help eligible Voices for Independence employees meet the accreditation standards of the Pennsylvania Department of Education and Pennsylvania Department of Health and advance your career in healthcare. Graduates of our state-approved Nurse Aide Training Center (1500 Ardmore Blvd., Suite 302, Pittsburgh, PA 15221) are eligible to take the state nurse aide competency examination.
Eligible direct care workers in Southwestern PA employed through Voices for Independence will be eligible to apply for tuition assistance. If approved, you will have the opportunity to apply and be considered for the Certified Nursing Assistant Program for FREE!
Program Timeline
- Orientation - March
- Class Schedule - TBA
- All classroom and skills training will be from 9am-1pm, Monday-Friday
- The final seven (7) days of the program will be full-time clinical shifts at a designated facility.
Program Requirements
Once approved for our Tuition Assistance Program, the following requirements must be met to be considered for acceptance into the Nurse Aide Training Center. All required tasks will be paid for by the Home Care Hub:
- 2 Step TB test (done within the past 2 years)
- Physical (completed within the past year)
- All necessary background checks
- One-time payment for the CNA Exam
Participants will need to have a watch with a second hand and non-slip white or black shoes.
Home Care Hub will Provide
- $75 weekly reimbursement (paid for by the Home Care Hub) for things necessary to participate in the training program. For example, this could be for, but not limited to: travel costs to and from the training site, child care, additional scrubs, non-slip shoes, etc.
- One (1) set of scrubs
- All additional equipment needed for training
